Miracles: 2008-01
miracles from January 2008: We spent the night in prayer December 31 until sunrise Jan 1, 2008.
- January 1–Brother M, having the joy of correction, was arrested and placed in Sacramento Main Jail. Three went to visit him, but owing to the disorder within, were prevented. However, on the way into the Jail, one noticed a young woman in pain and was urged by God to visit with her. Agreeing to on the way out, they learned that the woman had just been arrested for public drunkeness, and had thus lost 11 months of sobriety. When told that God had called the three to her, she began to cry. She revealed that she had nowhere to go and had been thrown out by her parents, and had lost visitation with her child. While finding a solution and a place for her to stay [New Hope House] her father arrived. After introductions, we the three left business cards with the Father and prayed for peace in the home and restoration. Peace came upon the dad as we prayed.
- Another of the three heard a call to visit one who is living in a difficult place. Quiet assurance was given that we are always there for her.
- Prayer for calm and peace was answered in the home of Brother S. who was worried that the length of the visit would cause concern for his parents.
- January 2–Sierra wanted to visit with Mark regarding God’s way. After a visit, and winding up at home with Jayne and Mark, Sierra gave her life to Christ.
- January 3–Cherri celebrated one year clean and sober, and brought with her to Celebrate Recovery at Radient Life her father in law, Bill. Bill, a non-believer, was impressed with the worship and stated that he would return again.
- January 4–After services, and following much prayer, Katie came to church after 10:45. While praying for her, and the best way to present Jesus, Mark was impressed to only use personal testimonies. Four powerful testimonies were shared, and at the conclusion of which, Katie accepted Jesus as her personal savior.
- January 5–We learned that Cecil had accepted Jesus at a bible study the week before. Sierra called out to Jamie having had a slight relapse. Restoration on the path resulted.
- January 6–Ryan on the East Coast, leading a 10 days of prayer, while praising God suddenly experiences a filling again.
- January 7–Forgot.
- January 8–Bible Study Night. Pentacost happened and we viewed Jesus through the eyes of Moses.
- January 9–Went to see Brother M. in Jail. On Friday the 4th, at the last visit, he felt like the walls were closing in on him and he had anger with God and others for his plight. Mark challenged him to be a light for God in this dark place. None of us could share the gospel behind the walls like he could. It was his time. This incarceration fulfilled a prophetic word which had been prophesied that M. would share the gospel to the darkest of people in the darkest places. Jail is dark and filled with dark angery people. At visit, the first words spoken were give me a praise report. Amazingly, after the last visit, M went back to his cell wondering how crazy Mark was and how this could possibly happen. While praying about this, a stranger walked up and asked if he could pray with M. After prayer, M said that his pastor had challenged him to be a light. The stranger said that it would be easy, just ask people to join them. Out of that beginning, 7 people had joined in a prayer meeting. M is now looking for a leader to take over after he leaves in 70 days or so. Also, M reported that God shrunk him so he fits just fine in the place. He is sleeping fine and is well rested.
- January 10–While at work, Mark noticed a coworker who was suffering from the pain of a former boss who caused so much difficulty that she and two others had heart attacks. Mark taught the message of 1John3:1 and invited her to claim the promise daily. After discussion, she said that she felt better already.
- January 11–During prayer, both Steven and Mark recieved a word to pray for Monique. Dominic had an enounter whereby he prayed a rebuking prayer against darkness which had been troubling him. The darkness fled and he was freed from a spirit of anger and depression.
- January 12–Marjorie had asked for bible study. She is 86 years old. During study and she wanted to know how a person knew if they were forgiven. It became clear that she had never been invited to accept Jesus as her personal savior, even though she had attended church for years. Today she made that decision.
- January 13–Sierra was baptized. She had first tried to cancel but was prevented by prayer and conviction. Spiritual warfare–another one for Jesus.
- Katie, who just accepted Jesus on the 4th, was moving her furniture from Davis to Southern California. However, by Stockton, the load having not been secured well, started to shift and threatened to fall out of the pickup truck. The two women stopped and looked at their problem Off to their side, a car with two Hispanic men approached. The spoke not English and the ladies no Spanish. However, the men asked: “Help?” They ladies said yes and the men got to work. Almost with gymnastic skill the two lept to the truck re loaded and shifted the items, tied them with knots that the ladies had never seen, and in moments the situation was solved. The women got in the truck, to leave, and then rolled down their windows to thank the men. No one was to be seen. No car, no men. Nothing. Katie said: “I think I’ve seen an angel!”
